Islamic kings Tombs are a group of ancient tombs with a mosque opposite the tombs.
Location
This scenic spot lies 2 kilometers south of Hami City.
Function or value in the past
They were used to bury Islamic kings and their wives.
History
Roughly in 1840, Islamic Kings Tombs were constructed.
Present condition
At present, among all the tombs here, 2 of them are well preserved. One is to the south consisting of 2 splendid pavilion-style constructions. The other one is a 25-meter high building with a dome roof and a square base. This building is made of glazed bricks with stairs leading to the roof. A mosque is opposite the tomb with religious sutras and various designs on its walls. Besides, it can hold 3,000 persons. |
